Liverpool have made a storming start to the season under Jurgen Klopp
Andy Cole has hailed Liverpool’s "sexy" football under Jurgen Klopp and tipped them as title contenders this season.
Liverpool host arch rivals Manchester United at Anfield on Monday in what arguably remains the biggest game in the English calendar.
And former United striker Cole – who turns 45 today – believes Klopp has turned Liverpool into one of the most exciting sides around, with match-winners throughout the team.
"What I do like about Liverpool? I love what they have going forward," said Cole.
"I think, attacking-wise they’re sexy. The goals can come from all over the park. That’s what I like.

"Klopp bringing in Sadio Mane, I’ve mentioned Daniel Sturridge numerous times and I think he’s England’s best centre-forward.
"When you’ve got players like that, you’re going to score goals and you’re going to create goals.
"But I look at the other side of them and see the other side – it’s a bit like Newcastle, when I was there with Kevin Keegan.
"It’s the entertainer kind of scenario. I really do enjoy watching them going forward, but defensively they’re so-so. But they’re a good team. I think that’s what makes them exciting."

Despite those perceived defensive failings, Cole, who made 275 appearances for Unite, scoring 121 goals, believes Klopp’s side have a real chance of winning a first league title since 1990.
"Are they a title threat?" said Cole. "Yes, I think they are, because Klopp has got them playing with so much energy now.
"They play good football and he’s got them working very hard for each other. They’re one of five teams who can win it, definitely."

In contrast, United have made a stuttering start to life under new boss Jose Mourinho and currently trail fourth-placed Liverpool by three points.
But Cole believes Mourinho’s record of success at Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid means the Special One will eventually get it right at United.
"I hope so," said Cole. "His track record proves he’s a winner. He had a disappointing end to his Chelsea career but hopefully, given time, he’ll get it right here."
