AUSTRALIA’S Next Top Model alumni Lucy Markovic moved one step closer to her Victoria’s Secret dream last night.
The 19-year-old local model was paired with visiting American and Victoria Secret angel Megan Puleri for the annual Fashion Palette Spring/Summer 2018 showcase at the Art Gallery of NSW.
Puleri, who walked in the annual Victoria’s Secret parade in 2015 alongside Selena Gomez, had some advice for the Australian hopeful, saying getting on the most sought-after catwalk in the world surprisingly had a lot to with personality.

“Victoria’s Secret is very much driven by and revolves around a girl’s personality. They don’t want you to try to be someone that you’re not, so my advice is to be yourself,” Puleri said.
Miranda Kerr is Australia’s most famous Victoria’s Secret graduate with other locals to have walked for the US lingerie giant including Jess Hart, Shanina Shaik and Bridget Malcolm.
Both Markovic and Puleri are represented by international agency IMG. Markovic placed second on season nine of Foxtel’s Top Model in 2015 behind Brittany Beattie.

“I don’t think you need to win (the show), you just need determination,” Markovic said, having moved to Sydney from the Gold Coast a year ago to focus full time on modelling.
“Top Model taught me to be more confident, which is something I think you need to be successful in the modelling industry.
“It didn’t come easy; it was a lot of hard work to not worry about what anyone else is doing.”

Measuring 184cm, Markovic describes herself as “very lanky” but believes her height sets her apart from some other models.
“Victoria’s Secret would be the ultimate for me,” Markovic said, planning her first international modelling trip for later this year. “It is the one that everyone fantasises about and I like that it is about being healthy and fit.”
Fashion Palette has traditionally provided a platform for up and coming Australian designers internationally in New York.
